{Organizing} Paper Scraps 6x6 or Smaller

Simple, simple, simple...

After getting all my stamps organized I was left with ALL these Close to My Heart plastic stamp envelopes...well scrap paper 6x6 or smaller fits right inside!

Now I let go of alot of my scraps that were smaller then 3x3 and they are being donated to my sons school. The little ones do lots of arts and crafts with them in 4K & 3K. I also let go of alot of the solid colored scraps and kept all the pretty patterned or textured pieces.

Now these are ready to store with my card making items and are even super convenient to take to a crop! YAY for less time packing and more creating time!

{Organizing} Stamp Storage

I've searched what seems like a million Google page searches for stamp storage and the endless pins on Pinterest and finally found a system that works for me.

Started by collecting all my stamps, ALL of them! Clear cling stamps, rubber un-mounted stamps, rubber mounted stamps & sorted them by themes (everyone might have diff themes of course). Now I will say this if a stamp set had butterflies and then sentiments like Thank You or Congrats I DID seprate them into the diff themed areas BUT say I had a stamp with candy images and then a You're so Sweet sentiment I left together. To each their own do what your brain says makes sense!

Here are my themes:

• ALPHABETS/NUMBERS (journaling too)
• BEACH (shells, anything water related)
• FLORAL/BUTTERFLIES (flowers, bugs etc)
• SENTIMENTS (thank yous, congrats, get well etc)
• BIRTHDAY (cupcakes, cake, presents, birthday sentiments)
• OBJECTS (kind of misc items like stamps of chairs, houses etc)

{Scrapbooking} Wendy Vecchi – Mixed Media 102

Feels like it's been ages since I had that chance to sit and create and well getting back into the swing of things with Wendy Vecchi at Everything Scrapbook & Stamps seemed like the best BANG to get back in it. & Thank you so much to Michelle for making the day so much fun! Heck they even supplied lunch, YUM!

   

The day started with working on 10 different techniques which were in the end labeled on the back of the tags we were working on so in the future we knew what products and techniques we used. At the end of all the tag making goodness we used all the techniques we had just learned to create a very neat canvas to hang in our homes or give as a gift, I kept mine of course. I also opted to take mine home and add some personal touches with my son, he had just came back from a trip to the beach with his Mom Mom and we added some of the seashells they found.

   

I've always watched people like Wendy or Tim Holtz demo the products and in all their glory so effortlessly emboss and spritz and blend like magicians & today we got to do just that and it was a blast! Heat embossing, stamping, blending, alcohol ink, water based ink, we learned it all!

   

If you are ever in an area that Wendy is offering classes I am telling you now that you will not be disappointed. She was so sweet and was more than happy to answer questions and even let us in on a couple of things that she's working on for the future.

Make It Monday {Link Up @The Memory Nest}

Here's my first contribution to a Make It Monday with The Memory Nest! I loved the challenge to choose a saying from the pic, choose a layout AND use an office supply. Here's my Layout, I chose "Dream Big" and I used staples as an accent on the layout.

{Crafting} Mail Art

Finally sat my rear end down, pulled out some blank envelopes, a stack of stamps and ink and started creating. Ended up with MAIL ART that I am so happy to share with you!

When was the last time you mailed a LETTER? A text message or email do not stand a chance against a letter in the mail from a friend or family member. Why not start sending happy mail?

I will have these for sale at our craft booth here in the Keys next week with proceeds benefiting filling backpacks with supplies for the local schools, but I'm thinking about selling them online....what do you think?

{Valentine's Day} Fish School, Heart Pizzas & Cupcakes

Feeling like Super Mom...cupcakes and Valentine's finished for my son's daycare party. However the heart pizzas were a bust for my son I still think they tasted pretty good. Valentine's Day 2013 is almost in the bag! ha ha bag...get it? ;)

Filled the ziplocs with Gold Fish Crackers....much healthier than candy. The cupcakes are enough.

 My attempt at "Heart" pizzas. Gluten Free Chebe Pizza Crust, I thought they were tasty.

& then the cupcakes! Super cute toppers I found on Amazon and the tray is a Pampered Chef Cool & Serve with the inserts taken out, works perfect!

{Crafty} Crib Springs and Washi Tape

If this is what I could do craft wise on a sick day then I wish I could get to do crafting on a day where I feel alot better.

Took my son's old spring from his crib and hung it up on the wall behind the couch in the livingroom and am attaching his baby photos chronologically using Washi taped clothes pins. Simple Simple ;)

{Scrapbooking} 4x4 Mini Chipboard Album w/Sassafras

So a couple weeks ago Sassafras had a grab box of goodies on sale and I hadn't purchased their product before but heard great things so I ordered one! Loved the paper and the embellishments and decided to do a Mini Chipboard Album using ONLY what I received in the grab box.

The album is 4x4 very thick Chipboard with a mini 3 ring binder inside with 8 double sided pages.

Here it is!

{Scrapbook} Scrap on a Dime Baby Shower Album (Keller's Creations)

At the CKC in Jacksonville I took the Scrap on a Dime class by Keller's Creations for the first time. We did a full 12 page album in an hour. Yes completed in the hour! Of course you could have embellished the heck out of it and that's just what I did when I got home and decided to do an album for a friends' baby shower gift. I took the same size papers cut out of only 4 pieces of scrapbook paper to make the entire 12x12 (12) page album! I embellished with some pink ribbon, pink flowers, stickles, buttons and alpha stickers. On the front of the album I used chipboard alpha letters and tied some ribbon on the spine.

It was so much fun making something girly since I'm usually into Toddler Boy mode. and Only took me about a total hour and a half between nap times and bedtime for the toddler. {Scrapbooking} CKC Jacksonville Review 2012

First off this is the second year for me at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Jacksonville, FL. & right off the bat you could tell that attendance wasn't as high as 2011. BUT we did have the ability to stay at the hotel this year and I got some volunteer time in which gave me a Free Shopping Band, (2) 1/2 off Tshirts and $20 in free product. Took a few classes and got just about ALL my shopping done with the early bird coupons on Friday morning and got some great coupons from the classes. I would say that we won something from just about every class and crop and even the special drawings! I felt very satisfied with the projects I completed and the time spent with friends and the vendors. At each event you feel like you're making some new friends and some are ending up to me lifelong friends, it's always nice to have people around that appreciate and get as excited as you.
